He graduated from the FashionInstitute of Technology with a degree in textile design and naturallygot his start in the design world by working in the fashion business.He began his career as an intern at DKNY, then moved on to become thehead colorist for a silk mill uniqueizing in neckwear mixtures fordesigners including: Bill Blass; Oscar De la Renta; Calvin Klein andDKNY. These experiences led to the creation of his own neckwearmixture, soon followed by the thomaspaul pillow mixture, whichlaunched in 2001. The pillows, made from the silk tie fabrics were aninstant hit. Since then, the line steadily expanded into othercategories, such as: tabletop; stationery; rugs; lighting; fabrics andart!
